Cabinet Details
We incorporate all these time tested Cabinet details and functionality into our traditionally designed cabinets.
It’s all in the Details.
Humming Bird Woodworks Details include:
Tray Storage Access from the side.
- The finished end of the cabinet has a door instead of a panelized end for greater tray storage access in a situation where there is narrow front cabinet face next to the sink
Drawers Built-In to stair risers.
- If you’re still tight on storage in your kitchen cabinets, you can add drawers to stair risers for the plates and other items that are used less often.
Wood-Pin Door Hinges.
- These Wood-Pin Door Hinges date back thousands of years to Egyptian and Roman furniture. They were carved from the harder woods like Walnut or Oak. We use them today for most of our Cabinet Hinge applications
Half-Lap Doors with Edge Bead.
- Our half lap doors offer a wide range of benefits that include greater stability – especially with taller doors. Dust and and dirt prevention due to the doors overlapping each other in the center. It also adds an added depth with shadows. The edge bead adds another nice dimension to the face of the door.
Unique Painted Square Details.
- Another unique custom detail that adds interest to the face of the cabinets.
Wood Saw-Tooth Shelf adjusters and Shelf Cleats.
- The Saw-Tooth wood shelf adjuster first appeared in the 18th or early 19th century with its design that looks like a saw blade. It came from the demand for more functional adjustable cabinets and furniture. The first Saw-Tooths were carved directly into the the wood panels. The shelf Cleats could be found in use as far back as the Middle ages. We have been using our Saw-Tooth Shelf Adjusters and Cleats for over 20 years.
Toe Kick Drawers.
- Our Toe kick Drawers offer a spot for more storage in an area the is often unused. Great for plates, trays and flatware. We have found they have become quite popular.
Routed Finger pulls on the under side of the upper drawers.
- These routed Finger pulls give the upper drawers a cleaner streamlined look. A great alternative to metal cabinet hardware.
